First of all, please read information at the following link: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=225&p=620#p618
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. How to adopt dog through this site? Whom should i contact?
Please contact me (administrator, nickname husky) by private message or just write reply in any topic. If you don't speak English, please contact LeFalto or effinen.
2. Why can't i contact dog curator directly?
You can do it, but russian curators usually don't speak English or Finnish (though sometimes they do and you are welcome to contact them). To do adoption properly and not become a victim of a fraud, you need to do it with help of administration.
3. When was organisation established? How many volunteers are in organisation?
This website stands not for organization, but volunteers from russian internet forum. There are quite many of them in St-Petersburg.
4. Where do you find/get your dogs? Where are the dogs usually living?
Volunteers find dogs in the streets and take them home for temporary living. They feed them and get medical help if needed. After that they start looking for new owners for these dogs.
5. Are you somehow selecting which dog will you try to rehouse?
Dogs offered for Finland should not be aggresive or have behavior problems.
6. Why i can see same dogs here and at "Kodittomat-koirat.com" website?
That happens because people advertise dogs at both websites. You can adopt dog from any website, it doesn't matter.
7. Do the dogs have necessary vaccinations and documents?
Yes they do. After adoption you don't need to do vaccinations. Besides the normal vaccinations in the future.
8. What are the payments and adoption process?
The payment for adoption is 40 euro (though it is not obligatory, according to rules of non-commercial import). Dog is treated against fleas, worms, microchipped, vaccinated and comes to Finland with passport and certificate. If you experience problems with dog after adoption, we are ready to advise in dog upbringing or take dog back.
40 euro is usually going to people who help with dog transportation. These people may not be associated with dog curator. It is important that you don't give more than 40 euro to them, unless it was agreed with administration in advance.
9. How much is expences for vaccinations, microchip, etc.?
In St-Petersburg average market prices are: microchip - 850 rub ~ 20 euro; vaccination (Nobivak, Eurikan) - 600 rub ~ 15 euro (two times for puppies - 30 euro); passport - 150 rub ~ 4 euro; frontline - 400 rub ~ 10 euro; worms treatment - 100-150 rub ~ 2-4 euro.
10. What can i do if i want to donate more than 40 euro?
Many dog curators are always in need for any material help. For example, you can donate a big pack of quality dog food. If you decide to do so, please let administrator know about this, to make sure this donation will reach it's goal. You can also donate money. In this case, please also let administrator know about it.
11. Is your work legal?
Yes, we bring dogs to Finland according to non-commercial rules of import.
12. What happens if i take a dog but somehow change my mind or the dog doesn't fit in new family?
Please think good before you decide to adopt a dog. But we are always ready to take dog back.
